In our fast moving world, most people submit their selves to things that will make life easier. Electronic gadgets and appliances comes in handy for they help in our everyday life. Even instant foods are widely used like canned goods, noodles and cold cuts. Many admits just taking a noodle or two before going to school or their office. But, what if the food that you think will help you ( you know, so you won’t get hungry before the break), can actually cause harm?
This video is taken by Arvy Bernardino Matic. Arvy admits while cooking the pancit canton, it has different smell and the sauce is so thick. She claims that while eating this pancit canton there’s something hard she almost choke, only to find out – it was a piece of a broken glass. Arvy already complained to the store - Seafood City Union City, where the packed noodle was bought but to no avail her voice was not heard. That’s why she decided to take this video as a proof of what she found out. For the second time, there’s another piece of broken glass, big enough to cause harm.
The Flour Sticks or Pancit Canton specification under the Philippine National Standards of the DTI ( Department of Trade and Industry Philippines) said that; the product shall be free from filth that may pose a hazard to health (7.2.a) ; b. shall be free from parasites which may represent a hazard to health; c. shall not contain any substance originating from microorganisms in amounts which may represent a hazard to health; and d. shall be free from spoilage or pathogenic microorganisms capable of survival and multiplication under normal conditions of storage. If so,
how could have this happened? Poor quality control? An incident took place causing some broken glass to accidentally be included in the packaging?
Whatever the reason a lesson should be learned here. Not because these foods are packed and have passed the quality control means they are okay. . Let’s be all be mindful of what we put in our mouths. This way, harm and threat to our health and lives can be avoided.
