Recently, a girl name Karen Kaye Montebon was raped and slain. So far, these are the details that were currently given.
Police investigators in Lapu-Lapu City are now checking possible leads in the rape-slay of a 17-year old Carolinian identified as Karen Kaye Montebon.
Montebon, a first year Accountancy student of the University of San Carlos in Cebu City, was found dead by her father James inside their house in Corinthians Subdivision, barangay Suba-Masulog, Lapu-Lapu City at 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
Montebon's father just arrived from work. Police believed that the crime happened around 7 am to 8 am in the morning when other members of the family left the house. The victim was preparing to go to school at 10 am.

When brought to Mactan Doctors' Hospital, the doctors confirmed her sexual organ had laceration. A stain of blood was also found in her underwear. But autopsy is scheduled to be conducted this morning, according to P03 Jerson Alparito of the Lapu-Lapu City Police homicide section.
As of 9 am this morning, Alparito said they have no suspects yet. But a pair of slipper was found outside the house of the victim.
Alparito said the DSLR camera and mini-ipod of the victims were also stolen.
